#008 – Sea Day – 14th May

11.02am – Last night we decided to have a room service breakfast this morning. After three consecutive early starts we wanted to be lazy slobs for a change. Our breakfast service arrived at about 9.30am, shortly after we’d got up and dressed ourselves and we enjoyed our breakfast watching the North Sea slip by just outside.

Yes, sadly we had to say goodbye to the fjords last night, and before opening our curtains this morning we knew we were once more in the North Sea. Not that it’s rough at all, just not as smooth sailing as in the calmer fjords.

A number of options are available to us throughout the day today, but I suspect we’ll probably spend much of our time relaxing in one or more of the lounges.

Nothing to see here…although the far North of Scotland is a couple of hundred miles away in that direction.

9.39pm – We’ve had a very quiet and restful day today sitting reading our books in the various lounges aboard ship. The food, as ever has been fabulous. We visited a ‘Taste of India’ lunch in La Vie en Rose at lunchtime where we had the most delicious food. This evening we’ve been back to The Grill where we had wonderful Beef Wellington. I can’t say I’m looking forward to getting on the scales back at home!

The Beef Wellington’s was perfect!

By this time in the evening we’ve come far enough South to be roughly level with Newcastle Upon Tyne. We’re going to be docking in Dover tomorrow night and departing for home after breakfast on Saturday.
