11.20pm – Guess who forgot we regained an hour this morning and was up earlier than he would have preferred? Grrr!
Anyway, we’re now down far enough to be level with the Norfolk coast. Breakfast in The Grill this morning was very busy so perhaps I wasn’t the only one to forget the clock-change?
The weather isn’t great this morning but Helen and I are going to do some laps of the Promenade Deck today. We felt terribly lazy yesterday relaxing in the lounges all day.
5.35pm – We’ve spent a pleasant hour or so in The Playhouse this afternoon, once more being lectured by John Walker, who told us so much about the places we were going to visit in Norway. This afternoon’s lecture was entitled, ‘How Viking Are You?’ and traced the influences the Vikings have had on our history since they first began raiding in the 9th century.
As we trace our route back to Dover on the TV in our cabin we can see that we’re currently level with the Thames estuary and are due back in Dover by nightfall.
We’re both experiencing the inevitable ‘end-of-holiday blues’ a bit, but we’re also very much looking forward to getting home to see the family, and especially the munchkins. It has been a marvellous cruise throughout and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed it.
We certainly can’t complain about the weather we’ve had! Although it was a bit rainy and windy this morning, we are returning home in lovely, warm sunshine this afternoon.
